Pitch a focused explainer, comparison, history piece, thoughtful myth check or occasion-based guide within our leisure culture scope. Useful angles include how a game creates its choices, what distinguishes two ways of taking part, or how a pastime acquired a custom. We favour evergreen subjects that remain useful without statistics, professional advice or first-hand testing.

What makes a good proposal

Send a working title, a short summary of the central idea, the section it fits and a few lines about the shape of the piece. Explain what a reader will understand by the end and how your angle differs from a general overview. Flag any specialised claims or sources the piece would need. We cannot promise publication from a proposal.
